I’ll never forget last summer vacation, when I was addicted to online games. Having played day and night, I ignored all my homework. How time flew! When I returned to school in the new term, I felt myself left far behind by my classmates in studies, which greatly discouraged me. I came to realize my fault. However hard I tried, I still couldn’t make up for the lost time. I do hope my story can remind us all to treasure time and make full use of it to improve ourselves. 第二节 (满分25 分) (One possible version) Luckily, my miserable shouts caught Mr Smith’s attention. He dashed out of the house and freed the dog’s teeth from my leg. Having caged the dog, Mr Smith rushed me to the clinic, where the doctor gave me an injection and dressed the wound carefully. On the way back home, I tearfully told Mr Smith the whole story. Not criticizing me, he looked me in the eye and said lovingly, “Animals are our friends that need our care and love and will treat us well if treated well.” His words left me ashamed and I decided to make a change. Instead of playing tricks on helpless animals, I did what I could to take care of them. With my father’s help, I became a volunteer in our local animal shelter, feeding or walking animals. I even set aside my pocket money to contribute to charity which helps save homeless animals. Once a troublemaker, later a caregiver, I gradually won people’s praise and respect I hadn’t experienced before. Most importantly, never did I feel so rewarded and honored for what I did for animals. 2 附:高二听力录音文稿 Text 1 W: Larry, look at the man in red. He’s trying to steal that woman’s purse. M: What should we do? Call the police? Or stop him right now? W: No. That would be too late or dangerous. Let’s ask an adult for help. Text 2 W: Sometimes I wonder if Mary’s health is really as poor as it seems. M: I know what you mean. Sometimes people are not what they seem. Text 3 W: Darling, I can’t stay here for another minute. Mr Watson upstairs decorates his house every day, which makes an awful noise. Doesn’t he know that it will disturb others? M: I’ve told him that. He said the decoration company would finish the work tomorrow. Text 4 M: Hello, Lucy. Fancy meeting you here. W: Yes, it’s really a surprise. I posted some clothes just now and I plan to go to the bookstore. M: I just came out from the supermarket. I have to go now. We can have a nice chat next time. Text 5 M: Sorry, Bella. I thought it was you who broke my pen yesterday, but I didn’t know it was Mom’s fault until she told me today. W: What? I didn’t know about it. How could you doubt me? Text 6 M: We are worried about what our children are watching on TV. There are so many terrible programs. What can we do? W: Well, have you heard about Kinder-TV? It takes the worry out of TV for parents. M: No. What’s that? W: Well, you buy this special TV and then you register by e-mail. Once a week, you receive an e-mail from the company describing daytime TV programs for that week. You just check off the programs you don’t want and Kinder-TV simply removes them. M: Unbelievable. I’ve never heard of anything like that. Text 7 W: Bill, when do you think the bus is going to get here? M: I have no idea, but it’s obviously late. W: Yeah, it’s a quarter past five now. It was scheduled to be here about 15 minutes ago. We’ll surely be late for the dinner party. M: I hate taking the bus. W: So do I. You can never count on public transportation, especially on such a snowy day. M: Exactly. W: I really can’t stand waiting at the bus stop any longer. Why don’t we take a taxi? M: I couldn’t agree with you more. Text 8 W: Two dollars, please. M: Here you go. W: Please take a seat. Keep your arms and head inside the bus, please. 3 M: It’s just too hot. Can you turn on the air conditioner? By the way, does this bus go to Howard Street? W: It’s not up to me to decide when to turn on the air conditioner. This bus goes to Linden Avenue. But you can get off at Davis Street. Then it takes about 10 minutes to walk there. M: I got it. I’ll just listen to some music. Could you remind me to get off when we arrive at Davis Street? W: OK. Text 9 M: Good morning, Abby. You look tired. What’s wrong? W: I have an upset stomach and I don’t feel very well. M: How long have you felt like this? W: It started in the morning the day before yesterday. M: I’ll press on your stomach to see if it hurts. W: OK. It hurts a bit when you press. M: Did you eat anything different from usual before you started to feel this way? W: Yes. My best friend cooked breakfast for me. But he is all right. It couldn’t have been the fish and fried eggs because he only had the two dishes. He isn’t a good cook and the vegetable soup tasted a bit strange. It must be it. M: Yes. You’ve got food poisoning. But it is not very serious and you should be better in another day. W: Oh, thank goodness. Do I need to take some pills? M: No. You only need to drink lots of water and get plenty of rest. If you’re not better in 48 hours, come and see me again. W: Thanks. I’ll follow your suggestions. Text 10 W: Good evening. You are listening to “Pop World” of BBC International. I’m Susan Welch. Well, first, I would like to say a few words to my dear listeners who are not very familiar with this program. Since many people want to listen to and understand pop songs, radio producers at BBC International have made hundreds of programs over the years. We have a vast library of “golden old songs” classics as well as the “latest pop songs”. For those of you who like a bit of background with your favorite music, there’s “The History of Pop” or “The Road to Music”. These two series bring you the language of pop music and information about the periods and the artists. If you want to hear from the artists themselves, there’s a new series called “About the Big Hits”. It is based on interviews with popular stagers and songwriters. They talk to us about the meaning and ideas behind their songs. If you want to understand the words to the big music hits, “Pop Words” is the program for you. After all it’s hard enough for native English speakers to understand most pop songs. So, if English isn’t your first language, you shouldn’t be surprised if the words to many songs leave you in the dark.
