1 南平市2021-2022 学年第一学期高二期末质量检测 英语试题录音原文 Text 1 M: Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? W: Almost. I got a kite for my son but I can’t find anything for my mother. She would probably like a book or a wool scarf. Text 2 W: Morning. Can I help you? M: Yes. Can I go to Greenwich by boat? W: Yes, of course. But now in winter, I’m afraid you will have to go by train. Text 3 W: Your hair is a bit long. M: I know. I’d like to get a haircut. Is there a barber’s shop near here? W: Yes, there is one just across the street, opposite the post office. Text 4 M: Be careful, Mum. There’re some pieces of glass on the floor. W: You haven’t broken that nice picture, have you? M: It’s all right. The cat just knocked the empty milk bottle down. W: Watch your sister. I’ll sweep it away. Text 5 W: Waiter, can you come here for a second, please? M: What’s the problem, ma’ am? W: This soup is cold. M: I’m sorry. I’ll bring you some hot soup. Text 6 W: Peter, we haven’t gone out for two weeks. Shall we go somewhere this evening? M: Sure, dear. Where shall we go? W: Let’s have a look at the newspaper to see what’s on at the cinema or theatre. M: Here, a new play is on this week. W: But I’d rather go to a concert. M: Oh, there aren’t any concerts tonight. W: Oh, here. The Saving Private Ryan? M: We’ve already seen it. Don’t you remember? W: How about 2012? M: I heard that it was very good. Let’s go to see it. Text 7 W: Karl, I tried a new restaurant last week, the Classical Café. Have you ever been there? M: No, I haven’t. What’s it like? W: It’s wonderful! The food is great, and the prices are reasonable. But what really attracts me is the men who take my orders. They sing. M: They sing? How unusual! W: And what about you, Karl? Have you done anything interesting lately? M: Oh, I went to a food festival last week. It was really fun. It was a German food festival. W: Really? I’ve never been to a food festival. And I love German food. M: That was the first time I had it. Everything was excellent. Now I’m learning to cook real German 2 food. If you have time, you should go there. It lasts until next Sunday. You’ll never think it boring. Text 8 M: Hello, Miss. Is this your car? W: Yes. Why are you asking? M: Didn’t you see the No Parking sign here? W: Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t notice it. I’ve only been here for a few minutes. M: OK, but could you please move your car at once? Otherwise I will have to give you a ticket. W: Well, where can I park my car? M: There is a parking lot just around the corner. W: I see, but it’s nearly full. M: Well, you can’t stay here. You see, you’ re blocking the traffic. Can I see your driver’s license? W: Sure, Sir. One moment, please. Here you are. M: Thank you, Miss. That’s right. Now you’d better move your car. W: Yes, Sir. Text 9 W: Excuse me, sir, but we’re doing a survey on what people prefer to do on holiday. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions? M: No, not at all. Please go ahead. W: How often do you go on holiday? M: I generally have a two-week holiday a year. W: And what do you prefer to do when you are on holiday? M: Well, I don’t usually visit my family. We live quite close and I can see them any time. But I do like to visit museums and art galleries, especially if there’s a special exhibition on. I don’t like to stay at home, although my parents do. You know, in the morning I prefer to sit under the tree, listening to birds. W: Do you ever travel overseas? M: No, I don’t. It’s too expensive for me. W: What about your wife? M: She loves to visit the coast in the afternoon. So if the weather’s good, we often go swimming in the sea, or maybe just lie on the beach and enjoy the sun. W: OK. Well, thank you very much for your time. Text 10 M: My mum has always told my sister and me to help others. One day last week I was walking back to my home and I passed by an old lady who seemed to be in trouble. I turned back and asked if she was OK. She explained that she was sick and had to struggle to walk with her shopping bags. I offered to carry these things and walked her back home but she refused because she didn't want to give me any trouble. I told her it didn’t matter and her home was on my way home. It was a white lie. As I walked with her she talked with me and introduced herself. I in turn told her my name. She asked if I knew Ray Robert. I was shocked and said yes. That was my dad. It turned out that this lady was my dad’s neighbor who had looked after my dad and his sisters when my grandma died 30 years ago. My dad had often spoken of her but I had never met her as she had moved away with her family. It was a lovely moment for both of us. When I got home and told my dad about the incident, it made him cry. I was so moved. I am glad that my small active kindness ended in a chance meeting that meant so much to the two people.
