听力原文 1.【原文】M: Excuse me, madam. Visitors are not allowed here. This is the operating room. W: I’m sorry. I must have got off the lift on the wrong floor. M: You can go to the third floor if you want to see the patients. 2.【原文】M: Before I decided to become a full-time photographer, I tested the waters (摸清底 细) by doing a few projects to see if I’d enjoy the work. W: That’s a smart choice! 3.【原文】M: My washing machine is more than 10 years old and it has worked just fine until last night. W: You’ll never be able to get parts for it, even from Japan. So it might be time to invest in a more recent model. 4.【原文】M: Why don’t we study together in the library every Thursday after school? W: You’re forgetting I have tennis practice on Mondays and Thursdays. How about Friday? M: That works for me. See you then! 5.【原文】W: I’ve started learning to play the violin. M: Are you taking lessons? Or is your father teaching you? Your father is really good at the violin. W: I am learning by myself. It is actually not that hard. 6.【原文】M: Wendy, any plan for the coming weekend? W: Yes, I’ve been working so hard the whole week, so I’m going to take a trip to Boston. M: Why are you going there? W: Well, one of my best friends is getting married this Sunday. I’m going to be her bridesmaid (伴 娘). I’ll go shopping right after work. I’ll buy some fancy clothes. Would you go with me and give me some advice? M: OK, but first I’ll have to finish the document here. 7.【原文】W: Would you like something else, sir? M: No, thanks. Can I have the bill? W: Yes, sir. Here is your bill. It totals $500. M: What’s the $100 for? W: $75 for three drinks plus $25 service charge. M: OK. Do you take American credit card? W: No, sir. Do you have a Visa card? M: No, and I have no cash on me. May I pay by cheque? W: That’ll be fine. Could you please sign here? M: OK. That’s it. 8.【原文】M: So, Claire, are you into drama? W: Yes, I’ve got a master’s degree in drama. At the moment, I am hoping to get into a PhD program. M: What excites you about drama? W: I find it’s a great way to study people. You learn how to read people through drama. So usually, I can understand what people are saying, even though they might be lying. M: That’s very useful. W: Yeah, it is. I mainly work as an English teacher, so I use a lot of drama in my classes, such as role-playing. And I ask my students to create mini-dramas. They really respond well to this type of instruction. 9. 【原文】M: Hey, what are you doing here? W: Oh, there’s a book I want to buy, so I came to this shop. My office is right around the corner from here, so I came here during my lunch hour. What about you? M: I have the day off, so I came here to buy a new book edition of some Spider-Man stories that were published in the 1980s. W: Really? I didn’t know you liked those kinds of books. I thought they were for kids. M: Most of them are. But in 1986, a really famous artist made a Spider-Man book that is for adults. It is very well written and it really impresses me. W: What is so good about the Spider-Man story? M: Well, it’s about Spider-Man, but it’s also about society at the time. Things are never as simple as they seem. W: Sounds interesting. What other stories like that do you like? M: I also like Watchmen by Alan Moore from 1987, and The X-Men by Chris Claremont from 1981. They also deal with adult themes. 10. 【原文】W: My friend Leo makes up weak excuses whenever there is something he doesn’t want to do. Just two weeks ago, he was at my house when he decided he didn’t want to go into work. He called his boss and said he had to get a new set of tires put on his truck. Then he sat down and watched TV with me. Not only had he lied but his excuse wasn’t a convincing (有说服 力的) one. Another time, he canceled a date with his girlfriend at the last minute telling her he had to get a new battery for his truck. She was angry and refused to go out with him again until he apologized. Last weekend, Leo offered the poorest excuse yet. He’d promised he’d help me move some furniture from my parents’ house to my new apartment. He was supposed to bring his truck over at about 8 o’clock Saturday morning. I waited, and then called and left a message on his machine. At about 11:30, he called and said he was sorry but he’d been getting a new set of tires put on his truck. I guess he’d forgotten he used the same excuse when he called his boss from my house. I think I need a new set of friends. I’m beginning to get tired of Leo’s excuses.
